The Advantage
This AGM Vacuum Filling Battery Machine was designed and developed for the purpose of filling AGM/VRLA batteries with sulfuric Acid, supported by vacuum. The volume of Acid to be filled in is dosed by a volumetric measuring system. The Acid is supplied to the filling tool with the individual filling heads through the distribution system. The required amount (specified value)
is set in the PLC program at the control panel. Batteries are individual transported and positioned under the VACBOX function unit. The VACBOX move down and start evacuating the box including battery. When the vacuum target is reached the filling process starts continuously until the pre-selected fill volume is filled. The negative pressure of the VACBOX support the fast and accurate filling of acid into the battery.

It reaches a filling capacity of up to 4 batteries per minute. The exact capacity depends on fill volume and battery compression and is determined in tests with the customer’s battery samples.
A special cover box around the battery is evacuated, so the same negative pressure exists inside and outside the battery. This avoids air spots inside the glass mat separators and prevents battery deformation. Filling starts once the vacuum target is reached.
The filling accuracy is ±0.3% of the fill volume. A flow meter measures each cell individually, and the temperature is monitored.
It is designed for AGM DIN car batteries from 20 to 30 kg. The filling tool has a quick change-over function.
