The High Rate Discharge Test Battery Machine is designed for high rate discharge test of batteries after the formation in the finishing area. The individual batteries supplied through the conveyor of the test machine are positioned exactly. The test stroke is lowered onto the battery terminals. By especially electrical measuring system (which is placed at disposal of the customer) batteries will be controlled. Therefore, the unit is provided with two control units for each end terminal, positive and negative.

A high rate discharge test (HRD) checks the power delivery capability of a lead-acid battery by applying a high current load and measuring whether the battery maintains its voltage within defined limits. The test is performed after the formation phase in the battery finishing area. It identifies batteries that fail to deliver the required starting performance before they leave the production line, preventing defective batteries from reaching the end customer.
The Premium Line High Rate Discharge Test machine uses individual clamping tools to contact DIN, JIS, Ford, and FLAT terminals. The clamping system lowers automatically onto the battery terminals, ensuring secure and repeatable contact without manual adjustment. This makes the machine suitable for automotive battery manufacturers running multiple terminal formats on the same production line, with short change-over times between formats.
Yes. The CMWTEC Premium Line HRD machine is designed to work as part of a complete end-of-line test sequence. It can be configured as a combination unit alongside the Air Leak Test machine, allowing both the structural integrity and the electrical performance of a battery to be verified in a single line section. OCV and CCV testing as well as deltaV measurement are available as additional options.
