A fully automatic air leak test machine checks lead-acid batteries for leaks in the second cover after heat sealing. The battery enters the machine on a conveyor, is automatically positioned under the probe, and overpressure is applied to the ventilation holes. Any pressure drop within the programmed test duration triggers a visual or audible signal, and the defective battery is automatically sorted out via a reject table. No manual handling is required during the test cycle.
The machine features a three-dimensional test stroke that accommodates all common sealed cover types, including standard automotive, truck, and industrial lead-acid battery covers. Short change-over times between battery formats make it suitable for production lines running multiple battery types.
